On July 22, 2008, while taping a The Price Is Right advertisement for the video game version, the wires used to rig the game were mistakenly left in place for the 1:00 pm taping of the show. However, before it is used for promotions, two fishing lines are used to rig the game, so that the chips always drop into the $10,000 slot. It is used often in commercials to promote the game show, as well as their video games. The game is called Plinko, and it is a viewer favorite on The Price Is Right. Generations of people have watched the Price is Right, with baited breath, as Bob Barker (and now Drew Carey) led contestants to a staircase, at the top of which, with all the scientific precision of a government, they dropped large flat disks down a sloped board with round stakes protruding.
